Job Summary
Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and vital signs collection under charge nurse supervision. Administer prescribed medications as delegated, document care outcomes, and assist with transfers, re-positioning, and range of motion exercises. Support food preparation, dining, and wellness programs while maintaining clean living areas. Requires CNA and Certified Medication Assistant certification, full-time status, and adherence to state-specific training mandates.
Required Qualifications
- Must be CNA and UMA certified
- Must have the state required certified/trained medication aide certification (CMA or TMA)
- Active certified nursing assistant registration in state of practice, or ability to obtain within 120 days, is required
- Must have a valid driver's license and auto insurance
- Must successfully complete the state approved Certified Medication Aide (CMA) course
- CMA certification must be maintained with the State Board of Nursing
- Must have nursing assistant certification
- Must have completed the 75-hour course and be registered with the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry
- Successful completion of a state-approved Certified Medication Aide/Assistant course once CNA certification is obtained
- Must maintain all department specific required certifications
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing
- Maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year
- A minimum of 12 hours continuing education are required annually based on state requirements
- An accepted offer will require a drug screen and pre-employment background screening as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required
- Minimum age of 18 preferred
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred
