Job Summary
Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under charge nurse supervision, including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, vital signs collection, and transfer techniques. Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse within scope of practice. Document care outcomes, medication administration, and behavior; collect non-invasive body fluid specimens. Assist with food preparation, dining, and wellness programs while maintaining clean living areas. Maintain required CNA and Certified Medication Assistant certifications, complete annual competency testing, and participate in departmental committees. Full-time day and evening shifts with a $5,000 sign-on bonus.
Required Qualifications
- Must be CNA and UMA certified
- Must have the state required certified/trained medication aide certification (CMA or TMA)
- Active certified nursing assistant registration in state of practice, or ability to obtain within 120 days, is required
- Must have a valid driver's license and auto insurance
- Must successfully complete the state approved Certified Medication Aide (CMA) course
- CMA certification must be maintained with the State Board of Nursing
- Must have nursing assistant certification
- Must have completed the 75-hour course
- Must be registered with the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry
- Must have successful completion of a state-approved Certified Medication Aide/Assistant course once CNA certification is obtained
- Must maintain all department specific required certifications
- Must satisfactorily complete yearly department specific competency testing
- Must maintain a record of continuing education credits for each year
- A minimum of 12 hours continuing education are required annually based on state requirements
- Must have a drug screen
- Must pass pre-employment background screening
Desired Qualifications
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required
- Minimum age of 18 preferred
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred
