Certified Medication Aide

Certified Medication Aide coordinates and administers medications to nursing home residents and provides supervision and guidance to clinical staff members. Responsibilities include documenting residents’ conditions and nursing needs, implementing physicians’ orders accurately and promptly, supervising and evaluating junior staff and CNAs, administering medications and performing treatments for assigned residents, and ensuring compliance with state nursing practice acts and regulations. The role requires a Valid Medication Technician certification in the state employed, CPR certification, and preferred one year of nursing experience. Strong teamwork, effective communication with residents and families, quick decision-making in emergencies, and adherence to confidentiality are essential. Also involved in orientation and ongoing training for personnel, and participation in reviews and trainings as needed.
