Job Summary
Certified Medication Aide (CMA) administers prescribed medications under the supervision of a licensed nurse in a long-term care setting, accurately documents in the electronic medical record (eMAR), observes residents for adverse reactions, assists with activities of daily living as needed, maintains narcotic counts and medication records, and ensures infection control and safety procedures. The role requires effective communication with nurses, physicians, residents, and families, and collaboration with the nursing team to provide resident-centered care in accordance with physician orders, state regulations, and facility policies. Preferred qualifications include Tennessee CNA certification, CPR certification, and prior long-term care or skilled nursing experience, along with strong organizational and teamwork skills.
