Job Summary
Certified Medication Aide (CMA) in a full-time role at Green Hills Health Care Center. Responsibilities include safely preparing, administering, and charting medications; verifying doses; recording administration in the resident’s medication administration record; monitoring and reporting vital signs (pulse and blood pressure); documenting nursing care after assisting residents; communicating changes to the RN/LPN on duty; ensuring resident rooms are clean and organized; treating residents with respect and maintaining confidentiality; assisting during emergencies and evacuations; supporting ongoing resident care under supervision. Requires CNA licensure and completion of a State-approved Medication Aide course; valid Direct Care Worker Registry registration; valid driver’s license; English proficiency; ability to perform basic arithmetic; willingness to undergo a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Location is Ames, IA with 12-hour shifts from 9:30 AM to 9:30 PM; includes shift differentials for certain hours.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) licensure
- Successful completion of State approved Medication Aide course
- Maintains a valid Direct Care Worker Registry registration
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in English
- Ability to perform simple arithmetic
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
