Job Summary

Administer medications as prescribed by the resident's physician and document administration, effectiveness, and side effects in the patient's chart. Assist with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, oral care, and mobility. Monitor residents for changes in physical or cognitive status, report symptoms to the Staff Nurse, and obtain vital signs as indicated. Store medications securely, maintain equipment, and follow infection control practices. Work weekends, evenings, or days under the supervision of a Staff Nurse.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
  • Valid Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification
  • Experience in a Skilled Nursing or Long-term Care environment
  • Must possess knowledge of safe medication administration technique
  • Must demonstrate a moderate level of computer literacy
  • Must be able to effectively communicate and interact professionally with staff and residents
  • Must possess manual dexterity to handle delicate instruments and other equipment
  • Must be able to lift, stoop, carry, turn, and assist high-risk residents, and push medication carts
  • Must be able to lift, push, and carry 40 pounds with 2 hands
  • Must be able to lift, push, and carry 20 pounds with 1 hand
  • Must be willing and able to work a flexible work schedule

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in a Skilled Nursing or Long-term Care environment preferred
