Job Summary

Administer oral and topical medications to residents under physician orders, verifying resident identity and ensuring proper labeling and storage. Document all administration, refusals, and reactions immediately, while maintaining medication cart organization and compliance with facility policies. Assist with resident hygiene, toileting, and daily living activities, and support CNAs with assigned duties. Report witnessed abuse, injuries, or hazardous conditions to supervisors, and participate in facility surveys and emergency evacuations. Work weekends and holidays as needed, adhering to strict safety protocols regarding bloodborne pathogens and personal protective equipment.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid CMA certification that is in good standing with the State
  • Valid CPR certification
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
  • Ability to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary
  • Ability to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations
  • Ability to perform the essential position functions of the job with, or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to meet the general health requirements set forth by State regulations and Company policy which may include medical and physical examinations
  • Ability to use a transfer/gait belt or to obtain the assistance of another employee when attempting to assist residents when lifting or carrying objects in excess of 25 pounds
  • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs: Constantly

  • Ability to lift 26 to 50 lbs: Frequently
  • Ability to lift over 50 lbs: Frequently
  • Ability to carry up to 10 lbs: Constantly

  • Ability to reach above shoulder height: Frequently

  • Ability to push/pull: Constantly
  • Ability to grasp: Constantly
  • Ability to handle: Constantly
  • Ability to torque: Occasionally
  • Ability to finger: Occasionally
  • Ability to twist, bend, crawl, squat, kneel, crouch, climb and balance
  • Ability to operate an automobile and various games
  • Ability to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and, at times, hostile people within the Facility
  • Ability to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met
