Job Summary
Certified Medication Aide (CMA) administers prescribed medications (oral, topical, inhaled), documents in the MAR, and monitors residents for changes or adverse reactions. The role includes assisting residents with activities of daily living, providing compassionate care, following state regulations and facility policies, maintaining accurate documentation, and collaborating with nurses, CNAs, and other care team members. The CMA participates in care planning and resident assessments when requested and communicates effectively with staff, residents, and families to promote dignity and independence. The position requires CMA licensure in-state, completion of a CMA training program, and the ability to perform physical tasks and pass a background check.
Required Qualifications
- Active Certified Medication Aide (CMA) License in the State of practice
- Successful completion of a state-approved Certified Medication Aide (CMA) training program
- Must be 18 years of age
- Ability to pass a background check
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
