Job Summary
Administer prescribed oral, topical, inhaled, and other non-injectable medications to residents at scheduled times while adhering to the five rights of medication administration. Document all doses on Medication Administration Records (MARs), record vital signs as required, and report adverse reactions or medication refusals immediately to licensed nursing staff. Ensure proper security and storage of controlled substances, maintain medication cart cleanliness, and assist patients with Activities of Daily Living including bathing and mobility. Maintain detailed electronic and paper records of all medications administered.
Required Qualifications
- Current, valid State of Michigan certification as a Certified Medication Aide/Passer (CMA)
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong knowledge of medical and pharmacological terminology
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team
- Demonstrated compassion and empathy for patients and their families
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting (e.g., long-term care, assisted living, or hospital)
