Job Summary
As a CMA/Medication Passer, administer prescribed medications (oral, topical, inhaled, and other non-injectables) to residents per policy, standards, and regulations, adhering to the five rights; document in MARs and report adverse reactions; securely store medications and conduct counts for controlled substances; maintain an organized medication area; observe and record patient responses and vital signs as required; support CNA duties in ADLs and collaborate with licensed nursing staff to ensure patient safety and quality care.
Required Qualifications
- Current, valid State of Michigan certification as a Certified Medication Aide/Passer (CMA)
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Strong knowledge of medical and pharmacological terminology
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team
- Demonstrated compassion and empathy for patients and their families
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Experience: Previous healthcare setting experience strongly preferred
