Job Summary
Prepare, administer, and document prescribed medications per protocol, including oxygen therapy in emergencies and ophthalmic, otic, nasal, and vaginal applications. Observe and report resident reactions and side effects to the charge nurse, while taking and recording vital signs prior to administration. Assist with daily care tasks such as bathing, feeding, dressing, and transferring residents, while maintaining cleanliness of the nursing and medication rooms. Successfully complete state-approved training and maintain good standing in the state registry, with a preference for one year of healthcare experience.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of State Approved Medication Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program
- Good standing in the state registry
- Must demonstrate working knowledge of Universal Precautions and the Blood Borne Pathogen rules
- Must be able to lift 1-25 lbs
