Job Summary
Answer patient calls, take vitals, and obtain authorizations while scheduling diagnostic tests and surgeries. Prepare exam rooms, assist physicians with procedures like wax removal and biopsies, and obtain proper consent. Call in prescriptions and clean and sterilize instruments per CDC and ENTAAF guidelines. Provide patient briefings before physician entry, ensuring scope of practice is followed. Requires one year of hands-on experience, current certification, and comfort with surgical procedures. Bi-lingual Spanish is a plus. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) after 60 days.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant
- Minimum one-year HANDS ON Medical Assistant experience
- Current with certification
- Comfortable assisting with surgical procedures
- Working knowledge of medical terminology
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a clear speaking voice
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills
- The ability to interact professionally at all times with patients, physicians, and team members
- EMR experience
- Strong computer literacy
- Bi-lingual in Spanish
- Must be able to assist patients in transferring from wheelchair to an exam chair
- Must be capable of lifting up to 25 pounds
