Job Summary
Conduct patient histories, vital signs, and examinations; prepare patients for procedures; collect and process laboratory specimens; and administer medications as directed. Assist physicians during exams, remove sutures, change dressings, and instruct patients on medication and special diets. Manage administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, filing documents, and coordinating referrals. Greet arriving patients and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. Requires active Medical Assistant certification, current BLS certification, and proficiency in medical terminology and electronic health records. Full-time 8-hour morning and afternoon shift.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registry or Certification as a Medical Assistant through a recognized certification body
- Current BLS certification
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency in medical terminology and procedures
- Ability to multitask and prioritize various responsibilities
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Competency in using medical software and electronic health records
- Problem-solving skills and critical thinking
- Empathy and a patient-centered approach to care
