Certified Medical Assistant - The Longstreet Clinic - Pediatrics

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) provides both clinical and administrative support in pediatric settings, including taking patient histories and vital signs, preparing patients for examination, assisting physicians during exams and procedures, collecting and processing laboratory specimens, administering medications as directed, performing basic laboratory tests, instructing patients about medications and special diets, removing sutures and changing dressings, facilitating patient education, greeting and assisting patients, scheduling appointments and managing calendars, maintaining patient records, coordinating referrals and follow-up care, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and policies. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, proficiency in medical terminology and procedures, ability to multitask, attention to detail, competency in using medical software and electronic health records, problem-solving, empathy, and patient-centered care are emphasized.
