Job Summary
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) at Northeast Georgia Health System in the Pediatrics/Physician Services setting. Responsibilities include taking patient histories and vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, assisting physicians during exams and procedures, collecting and processing laboratory specimens, administering medications as directed, performing basic laboratory tests, instructing patients about medications and diets, removing sutures and changing dressings, greeting and assisting patients, scheduling appointments and managing calendars, maintaining patient records and correspondence, coordinating referrals and follow-up care, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. Requires active CMA certification and current or soon-to-be-obtained BLS, with strong interpersonal skills, medical terminology proficiency, ability to multitask, attention to detail, empathy, and proficiency with medical software/EHRs.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registry or Certification as a Medical Assistant through a recognized certification body
- Current BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire
- High School Diploma or GED
