Job Summary
Medical Assistant I supports clinical operations within the HMG physician practice, assisting providers, taking vital signs, recording patient histories, performing in-office testing and EKGs, administering vaccines, preparing patients for visits, managing medical records in EMR, and coordinating referrals and authorizations. The role emphasizes high-quality patient service, confidentiality, independent work, and adherence to clinic workflows (TCM, CCM, RPM). Prior EMR experience (Athena preferred) and strong communication skills are valued in a fast-paced clinical setting.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Education from approved medical assistant program or equivalent
- One to three years as a medical assistant preferred
- Medical Assistant Certification preferred
- Experience with EMR is strongly preferred (Athena preferred but not required)
- Strong customer service excellence expected
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
