Job Summary
Certified Medical Assistant role in a fast-paced patient care setting serving ages 0-18 and adults. Responsibilities include collecting and documenting patient data (biophysical, psychosocial, developmental, cultural, environmental), obtaining vital signs (including BMI, height/weight), updating records for care received elsewhere, preparing patients for examinations, assisting providers during treatments and testing, completing and documenting treatments and interventions, administering medications and immunizations, supporting patient education and self-management, and using equipment such as thermometers, sphygmomanometers, stethoscopes, pulse oximeters, tympanometry, basic lab equipment. Requires HS diploma or GED, CMA/EMT certification or licensure documentation, Basic Life Support, and relevant certifications; includes pediatric assessment knowledge and respiratory fit testing per safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or GED
- Graduation from a medical assistant or emergency medical technician program or documentation from the licensing authority confirming that medical assistant/emergency medical technician education is not a requirement for certification
- BLS -Cert-Basic Life Support from American Heart Association
- 1-year related experience preferred
- One of the national certification/registrations: CCMA, CMA-AAMA, CMA-C, NCMA, NRCMA, RMA-AAH, RMA-AAMP, RMA-AMT, RMA-ARMA, EMT (Texas) or EMT variants, Licensed Paramedic – Texas
