Job Summary
Under direction of the Office Manager or Clinical Coordinator, perform medical assisting duties within assigned Medical Office(s) while assisting providers with patient care and procedures. Facilitate efficient patient flow, manage telephone communication including test results and surgery schedules, and utilize Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software to update patient information. Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality, and provide medical interpretation in a language other than English as needed. Work day shifts from 9:00am to 5:30pm or 9:30am to 6:00pm in Primary Care locations throughout Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
Required Qualifications
- Equal to completion of four years of high school or equivalent plus specialized courses and training
- National third-party certification, such as AMCA, AAMA, AMT, CCMA (NHA certification), or NCMA (NCCT certification)
- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program, or equivalent medical office practice experience
- BLS certification
- Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and/or health-related computer software
- One (1) year of medical assistance work experience
- Fluent in a language other than English and Medical Interpreting
- Other certifications, based on practice specialty
