Job Summary
Conduct patient visits by preparing exam rooms, obtaining vitals, and performing in-house tests like retinal photography and EKGs under physician supervision. Coordinate care by processing lab orders, administering medications and immunizations, and preparing radiology orders for outside imaging. Manage administrative tasks including chart prep, patient recall, scheduling follow-ups, and processing paperwork for disability forms and authorizations. Serve as a bridge between the health center, provider, and patient while maintaining strict confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA rules.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Medical Assistant Certificate from an accredited vocational school
- National or CA state certification as a medical assistant from organizations approved by Salud
- Valid CA driver's license and current vehicle insurance
- Current CPR certification
- Must be bilingual English/Spanish
- Strong computer skills using Electronic Medical Records
- Up to date State mandated vaccine status for Health Care workers (including booster)

- Be familiar with medical terminology and community health care resources
