Job Summary
The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is responsible for assisting the provider in preparing patients and their charts for clinical appointments. Key duties include managing client flow through the clinic, obtaining vital signs, completing medication reconciliation, providing medication education, managing patient medication assistance processes, completing billing documents, and ensuring compliance with safety guidelines. Essential qualifications include medical assisting certification, experience in a medical/psychiatric setting, and current CPR and First Aid certification.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, or Registered Medical Assistant credentials required
- Prefer one (1) year of experience working in a medical office and/or psychiatric setting
- Certification in Medical Assisting through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or the National Health Career Association (NHA) or registered Medical Assistant in the state of Indiana
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification must be obtained after hire and prior to providing direct patient care
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and First Aid certifications must be obtained after hire and prior to providing direct patient care
- Valid driver’s license and active auto insurance coverage
- Satisfactory results from criminal and driving record background checks
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
