Job Summary
Organize the nursing station and medical records to facilitate workflow, proofread dictation, and manage incoming mail and office supplies using cost containment methods. Assist physicians, nurses, and receptionists by answering phones, scheduling appointments and procedures, and interviewing patients to determine chief complaints. Perform clinical tasks under provider direction, including taking vital signs, administering oral/subcutaneous medications and allergy injections, ordering diagnostic tests, and providing patient education and home care instructions. Maintain infection control policies, stock exam rooms, and ensure compliance with clinic incident reporting and OSHA standards.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a registered or certified Medical Assistant through one of the following: American Med Techs (AMT), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), National Health Career Association (NHA), American Allied Health (AAH) at time of hire, or National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
- CPR certification per American Heart Association guidelines required within 30 days of hire date
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
