Job Summary
Perform visit intake, including insurance verifications, vital signs, and patient data collection. Collect medical and social history, review medication lists and allergies, and assist providers during treatments. Perform phlebotomy, administer subcutaneous injections, and collect specimens. Prepare, clean, and stock the clinic while assisting with registration, scheduling, and co-pay collection. Support emergency situations as directed. Work Monday through Friday, Saturdays as needed, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM in Gastonia, NC.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Medical Assistant certification by either the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Health Career Association (CCMA), National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA), or National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
- BLS or obtained upon hire
- Prior medical assistant or medical assistant externship experience
- Proficient at partner programs (i.e.: MS Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability to cope with ambiguous, changing environment while under pressure in a calm manner
- Must be able to work as a team member and develop productive and cooperative working relationships with all members of the Palmetto Infusion team
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include reading, distance, computer, and color vision
- Talking and hearing are essential to communicate with patients, vendors, and staff
- All employees must uphold the confidentiality of protected health information and follow all HIPAA policies
