Job Summary
Demonstrate professional conduct and ethical practice while performing initial clinical assessments, assisting physicians with treatments, and providing patient instruction on diagnosis and medications. Maintain proficiency in clinical equipment, adhere to infection control principles, and enter accurate patient care reports into electronic medical records. Communicate effectively with coworkers and family members while assuming personal responsibility for maintaining licensure and current knowledge of patient care procedures. BMH Physician Partners operates multiple practices across Beaufort and Hampton Counties, requiring this Certified Medical Assistant to float as needed. BLS certification is required prior to the first clinical shift, and candidates must hold a current CMA, CCMA, RMA, NCMA, or NRCMA credential.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Completion of a medical assistant program (CMA, RMA, NCMA, and CCMA)
- 1 year of verified medical office experience as a medical assistant
- LPN license
- EMT certified
- Mature reasoning ability
- Strong attention to detail
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) (CMA) certification
- National HealthCareer Association (NHA) (CCMA) certification
- American Medical Technologists (AMT) (RMA) certification
- National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)(NCMA) certification
- American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA) certification
- National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) (NRCMA) certification
Desired Qualifications
- 2-3 years previous medical office experience as a medical assistant
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
