Certified Medical Assistant

Certified Medical Assistant Telehealth Technician for Veterans in Community-Based Outpatient Clinics. Receive training to become a Qualified Telehealth Technician with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Duties include preparing the clinical environment and telecommunication equipment, following clinician instructions, serving as an imager and clinical data manager, saving and forwarding telehealth encounters, inventory and equipment care, completing standardized clinical questionnaires, scheduling and coordinating rooms, interviewing patients, recording vitals and histories in the EMR, preparing and assisting with examinations, administering medications, and performing ancillary tests (PFT, EKG, injections, audiograms, blood draws) as directed by the Center Medical Director. Requirements: High School Diploma/GED, accredited certificate program, active medical assisting certification, MS Office familiarity, two years of clinical operations experience, BLS certification.
