Job Summary
Assist providers with clinical procedures including taking vital signs, wound care, administering injections, phlebotomy, vaccines, performing urine tests, EKGs, and applying splints. Prepare and clean exam rooms, manage patient intake duties such as reporting test results and phone triage, and maintain daily logs and documentation. Support administrative functions by pre-registering patients, scheduling appointments, coordinating referrals, verifying insurance eligibility, and managing clinic communications. Educate patients on medications and diets while monitoring clinic supplies to ensure appropriate inventory levels. Requires Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) certification, BCLS, and 0-1 years of experience in a medical practice setting. This role delivers excellent patient service within a collaborative, purpose-driven culture at Pine Ridge MOB.
Required Qualifications
- 0-1 years of experience in a medical practice setting or completion of externship program
- Knowledge of medical office procedures and patient care techniques
- Proficiency in medical record systems and basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Understanding of medical terminology and infection control practices
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to provide excellent patient service
- Demonstrated time management and organizational abilities in a fast-paced environment
- Critical thinking skills for analyzing and resolving clinical and administrative challenges
- Ability to perform care according to age-specific competencies
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)-AAMA
- National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)-NCTT
- BCLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) or American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI)
