Job Summary
Welcome, triage pediatric patients, obtain vital signs, and communicate findings to providers. Assist with procedures including splinting, vaccinations, medication administration, phlebotomy, lab testing, and radiology support. Document patient information in the EMR, collect CLIA-waived specimens, and prepare examination rooms. Support front-office functions such as registration, insurance verification, and payment collection. Maintain HIPAA and OSHA compliance while collaborating with the team for efficient patient flow. This versatile role adapts to clinic needs across urgent care and primary care settings.
Required Qualifications
- Current CMA/RMA/NCMA certification
- Texas LVN license
- Texas RN license
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum 6 months of recent clinical experience in pediatrics, urgent care, family medicine, or a similar outpatient setting
- Experience with patient intake, vital signs, clinical documentation, and assisting providers with patient care
- Working knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and basic clinical procedures
- Ability to work in a fast-paced pediatric environment and support both clinical and front-office responsibilities
- Availability to work assigned schedules, including evenings and weekends, as needed
Desired Qualifications
- 1+ year of pediatric or urgent care experience
- Experience with phlebotomy, vaccinations, medication administration, lab testing, splinting, or radiology support, as permitted by scope of practice
- Experience with patient registration and insurance verification
- Bilingual English/Spanish
