Job Summary
Greet patients, escort them to exam rooms, and register them while collecting required information and confirming medical records. Prepare patient charts, gather vital signs and medical history, and instruct patients on exam preparation. Assist providers during examinations, administer vaccines, complete referrals, and select required forms for screenings. Manage provider schedules to optimize patient access, communicate patient status to the team, and ensure charts are returned. Maintain a clean, orderly clinical area, dispose of soiled equipment, and prepare instruments for sterilization. Open and close the clinical area as assigned, while adhering to HIPAA guidelines and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program
- 1 – 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting
- MA certification required within 6 months of employment
- CPR certified
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with all members of the healthcare team
- Commitment to professional growth and development in a dynamic, forward-thinking organization
- Demonstrated knowledge in the role of every medical emergency
- May require lifting/assisting patients
- Position requires work with hazardous and bio-hazardous materials
- Requires walking/standing for long periods of time
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with electronic medical records preferred
