Job Summary
Provide necessary medical services to patients within your scope of practice, including obtaining vitals, assisting with examinations, and carrying out nurse visits. Maintain the Electronic Health Record with up-to-date documentation, provide patient educational materials, and manage inventory by restocking examination rooms and submitting order requests. Perform administrative duties such as reading the Clinical Policy Manual, participating in QA/QI meetings, and assisting with data collection and audits. Return phone calls to patients and vendors while maintaining professional communication. Operate medical equipment including ECG, PFT, lab centrifuge, and vital sign machines. Travel to other clinics to provide coverage during nursing staff absences and assist in training and mentoring coworkers.
Required Qualifications
- National certification of CMA or RMA
- Current BLS (basic life support) Certification
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Must be organized
- Self-motivated
- Detail oriented
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Competence in working with both pediatric and adult patients
- Ability to travel to and provide coverage for other PMG clinics during nursing staff absences
- Competency in utilizing ECG equipment
- Competency in utilizing PFT equipment
- Competency in utilizing in-house hemoglobin equipment
- Competency in utilizing Lab centrifuge equipment
- Competency in utilizing AED equipment
- Competency in utilizing Autoclave equipment
- Competency in utilizing Vital Sign Machine equipment
- Competency in utilizing Nebulizer and accessories equipment
- Competency in utilizing Blood Glucose equipment
- Competency in utilizing INR equipment
- Competency in utilizing in-house hemoglobin A1c equipment
- Competency in operating Microsoft Office suite of products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to effectively communicate complex and/or technical information to co-workers, patients and/or vendors
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to sit for long periods of time
- Ability to view a computer monitor for long periods of time
- Ability to bend
- Ability to stretch / reach
- Ability to walk short distances
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to operate office equipment (computer, fax machines, telephones and copy machines)
- Ability to read forms / instructions / patients charts
- Ability to communicate well to people of various ages, educational levels, cultural backgrounds in person or by telephone
- Ability to utilize universal precaution in clinical or exposure situations as prescribed by federal state, and local guidelines and /or laws
Desired Qualifications
