Job Summary
Facilitate, communicate, and collaborate with the healthcare team and patient/family to identify and meet physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Promote optimal health, well-being, and safety in accordance with patient care standards and the State Medical Practice Act. Perform clinical tasks as directed by an authorized provider, assist with front office duties and scheduling, and maintain accurate chart documentation and medical records. Attend in-service presentations and seminars to facilitate professional growth while demonstrating accountability for relationship-based care and core values. This role supports the Clinical Ladder and Apprenticeship programs within Mercy Hospital's Orthopedic Clinic in Durango, CO.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Medical Assistant certification or registration from approved organization
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association
- Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following recognized certifying bodies: American Association of Medical Assistant (AAMA), American Medical Technologist (AMT), National Healthcare Association (NHA), or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- Ability to exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly
