Job Summary
Certified Medical Assistant or Medical Assistant Resident in a physician office setting. Responsibilities include recording vitals and chief complaints, charting in EHR, triaging patients, obtaining specimens, performing EKGs and POCT, administering vaccines/injections/medications, venipuncture, preparing and maintaining sterile fields, assisting providers with procedures, patient communication, infection control, quality control, creating new patient charts, documenting in real time as a scribe, handling front office duties, scheduling, and maintaining supplies. Requires operational knowledge of clinical equipment, strong customer service, organizational, multitasking, and professional interpersonal skills. Licensure/certification per NCCT MA requirements and CPR/BLS compliance are needed; Level progression includes increasing duties and responsibilities (Level I-III). Safety-sensitive position with potential physical demands and exposure to clinical environments.
Required Qualifications
- Medical Assistant formal education or training (preferred)
- NCCT Medical Assistant Certification (required within 90 days of hire)
- CPR/BLS (required within 30 days of hire)
- Basic computer skills (required)
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Two years experience in health-care field (preferred for Level II)
- IV or phlebotomy experience (preferred)
- Maintaining MA Certification/licenses in good standing (as applicable)
