Job Summary
Greet patients respectfully and review patient charts to verify diagnostic test results and medical records are current. Measure vital signs including pulse, respiration, blood pressure, weight, and height. Prepare treatment rooms for upcoming examinations and perform clerical duties such as checking inventory, tracking referrals, and answering phones. Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly as assigned. This role supports the primary care physician on the Oncology Unit at Perrysburg Medical Center, ensuring services align with state guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- High School Degree or GED
- Active Medical Assisting certification from one of the following: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA); American Association of Medical Assisting, Registered Medical Assistant (RMA); American Medical Technologists, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA); National Healthcareer Association (NHA); Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA); National Association for Health Professionals, National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA); National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- BLS Basic Life Support, American Heart Association (required at hire for Roper St Francis Healthcare locations; preferred at hire, required prior to independent patient care at BSMH)
Desired Qualifications
- One year of medical assistant healthcare experience
- Two years of clerical experience in a physician's office
- Possesses problem-solving skills
- Basic computer skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
