Job Summary
Certified Medical Assistant to support an oncology clinic (Hollings Cancer Center). Responsibilities include patient triage, rooming patients, obtaining height/weight and vital signs, reviewing medications, screening questions, room turnover, obtaining EKGs, and assisting procedures under the direction of a physician and the Outpatient Clinic Manager. Work under RN supervision in a decentralized patient-centered care model, performing multi-skilled activities to support examination and treatment of patients. Requires CMA certification, completion of an accredited CMA program, and BLS.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited medical assistant program
- Certified through AMT or AAMA or NAHP or NCCT as CMA or CCMA
- Current American Heart Association BLS or Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers
- Six months CMA/RMA experience required
- CPR/BLS certification as required by employer
- Ability to interview patients, measure vital signs, obtain EKGs, assist in examinations and treatments, prepare rooms, and support patient-centered care under supervision
