Job Summary
Conduct patient intake, measure vital signs, and document health history in the electronic medical record. Perform injections, administer prescribed treatments, and instruct patients on medication and sample collection under physician direction. Maintain clinical equipment, clean exam rooms, and triage phone calls while monitoring patient conditions. Manage appointment scheduling and referrals based on urgency. Work Monday through Friday in the Endocrinology/Gastroenterology area with cross-training opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited medical assisting program
- Must be certified through American Medical Technologist (AMT) or American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or National Health career Association (NHA) or MedCA as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification
- Ability to lift, lower, push and pull and/or carry objects weighing 50 lbs (+/-) unassisted
- Ability to exert up to 50 lbs of force
- Ability to lift from 36" to overhead 25 lbs
- Maintain 20/40 vision corrected
- Ability to work in a latex safe environment
- Ability to work indoors
- Ability to perform job functions while standing, walking and sitting
- Ability to bend at the waist
- Ability to kneel
- Ability to climb stairs
- Ability to reach in all directions
- Ability to fully use both hands and legs
- Ability to possess good finger dexterity
- Ability to perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders
- Ability to work in confined/cramped spaces
- Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use
