Job Summary
Assist patients to exam rooms, obtain vital signs, and record patient history as per protocols. Admit patients, take measurements, and apply aseptic technique during examinations and treatments. Collect and process specimens, perform CLIA-waived tests, and administer oral and parenteral medications under license. Conduct phlebotomy, electrocardiography, and respiratory testing while maintaining medication and immunization records. Manage patient care in collaboration with the healthcare team, recognize emergencies, and serve as a communication liaison between providers and patients. Maintain examination rooms, restock supplies, and make appointments as directed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- CPR certified
- Successful completion of a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
- Training verification as a MA
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to deliver medical services and use equipment
- Ability to work in conditions that include exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissues, contagious diseases and/or other potentially hazardous materials
- Fine motor coordination sufficient to perform manipulative skills
- Moderate physical exertion including frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching and carrying moderately heavy loads (up to 25 lbs.)
Desired Qualifications
- Successful completion of testing
- Two (2) years of successful experience in a clinical setting
- Ability to speak and write fluently in English; Spanish desirable
