Job Summary
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) provides multi-skilled support in MUSC Community Physicians (MCP) outpatient clinics, assisting in examination and treatment under physician direction, interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and preparing treatment rooms. Requires CMA/CCMA certification through AMT/AAMA/NHA/NAHP/MedCA, BLS certification, and a completed accredited medical assisting program with preferred one year of patient care experience. The role is based in Camden within MUSC’s rural health network, with regular 40-hour work weeks and a focus on decentralized, patient-centered care.
Required Qualifications
- Must be certified through the American Medical Technologists (AMT) or American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or National Health career Association (NHA) or NAHP or MedCA as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or CMA/CCMA
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification either from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited medical assisting program with one year of patient care experience preferred
- Basic computer skills
