Job Summary
Demonstrate professional conduct and ethical practice while performing initial clinical assessments, assisting physicians with treatments, and providing patient instruction on diagnoses, tests, and medications. Maintain proficiency in clinical equipment, enforce infection control principles, and enter accurate patient care reports into electronic medical records. Communicate effectively with coworkers and family members, ensuring safety consciousness and strong rapport throughout the clinical setting. BMH Physician Partners operates multiple practices across Beaufort and Hampton Counties, requiring employees to cover shifts as needed. Candidates must hold a current certification (CMA, RMA, NCMA, or CCMA) and BLS certification from the American Heart Association prior to their first shift.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Completion of a medical assistant program (CMA, RMA, NCMA, and CCMA)
- 1 year of verified medical office experience as a medical assistant
- LPN license
- EMT certified
- Mature reasoning ability
- Strong attention to detail
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) (CMA) certification
- National HealthCareer Association (NHA) (CCMA) certification
- American Medical Technologists (AMT) (RMA) certification
- National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)(NCMA) certification
- American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA) certification
- National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) (NRCMA) certification
Desired Qualifications
- 2-3 years previous medical office experience as a medical assistant
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
