Job Summary
Review patient records, reminders, and care gaps prior to visits. Record vital signs, administer medication, perform wound dressings, and complete laboratory orders during check-in and check-out. Prepare exam rooms, inventory supplies, sterilize instruments, and manage appointments and no-shows. Document consistently in the EMR and communicate with providers and team members. Operate basic medical equipment and answer phones. Maintain personal competence and attend required education programs. Regular on-site attendance is required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Medical Assistant Certification
- One-year certificate from college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Current BCLS/CPR
- Previous experience with basic computer systems
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology
- Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Regular and reliable on-site attendance
