Job Summary

Rooms patients and families to exam or procedure areas, documents vital signs and patient information per clinic policy, and assists with procedures as directed. Conducts clerical tasks, patient transport, cleaning, and restocking to maintain clinic flow. Recognizes symptoms of common medical illnesses and abnormal or new/existing pain, immediately escalating to registered nurses or providers. Performs blood draws as directed and acts as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare providers. This role is located at the South Lake Union General Oncology Clinic and requires 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday, starting at 7:00am. Candidates must be certified or interim certified medical assistants in Washington State with current BLS certification.

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of a medical assistant program offered by a school accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)
  • Military training or experience
  • Certified Medical Assistant in the State of Washington
  • Interim Certified Medical Assistant in the State of Washington
  • Current Surgical Technologist Registration in the State of Washington
  • Current BLS AHA Health Provider Card
  • Proficiency in email and word processing systems
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, complex healthcare environment
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and problem solve
  • Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to follow direction and guidance
  • Ability to recognize limitations and seek help
  • Ability to identify learning needs and plan learning opportunities
  • Work 8-hour shifts, Monday-Friday, starting as early as 7:00am
