Job Summary
Coordinate patient care with physicians by greeting patients, escorting them to exam rooms, and taking vital signs. Prepare patients for exams or treatments, perform spirometry and allergy testing, and administer injections as ordered. Maintain clinical supplies, sterilize equipment, and answer patient-related phone calls per protocol. Complete medical documentation, call prescriptions, and follow up on referrals and insurance authorizations. Monitor patients for adverse reactions and maintain emergency equipment including oxygen and code kits. Ensure HIPAA compliance, attend required training, and complete assigned AP training within designated timeframes.
Required Qualifications
- High school degree
- CMA certificate
- At least one year of experience in clinical assisting
- Comfortable using email and interacting with Internet applications
- Knowledge of practice management and word processing software
- Good communication skills
- Neat, professional appearance
- Attends CPR, OSHA, HIPAA, and OIG training programs
- Attends all regular meetings
- Maintains patient confidentiality; complies with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by the practice
- Maintains detailed knowledge of practice management and other computer software as it relates to job functions
- Complies with Allergy Partners and respective hub/department policies and reports incidents of policy violations to a Supervisor/Manager/Director, Department of Compliance & Privacy or via the AP EthicsPoint hotline
