Job Summary
Greet patients, escort them to exam rooms, and take vital signs while preparing them for treatment. Assist physicians with assessments, administer medications and allergy injections per orders, and perform spirometry and other breathing tests. Prepare and sterilize supplies, maintain emergency equipment, and complete patient documentation and prescription calls. Monitor patients for adverse reactions, answer clinical phone calls, and follow up on referrals and insurance authorizations. Maintain clinical supply stock, ensure HIPAA compliance, and attend required training programs.
Required Qualifications
- High school degree
- CMA certificate
- At least one year of experience in clinical assisting
- Comfortable using email and interacting with Internet applications
- Knowledge of practice management and word processing software
- Good communication skills
- Neat, professional appearance
- Attends CPR, OSHA, HIPAA, and OIG training programs
- Attends all regular meetings
- Maintains patient confidentiality; complies with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by the practice
- Maintains detailed knowledge of practice management and other computer software as it relates to job functions
- Complies with Allergy Partners and respective hub/department policies and reports incidents of policy violations to a Supervisor/Manager/Director, Department of Compliance & Privacy or via the AP EthicsPoint hotline
