Job Summary
Provides direct patient care and clinical support in the outpatient clinic, including preparing patients, taking vital signs, performing EKGs and wound care as directed, and assisting providers during visits. Performs administrative duties such as scheduling, filing, and handling billing inquiries; documents in the electronic medical record; ensures patient safety and infection prevention; may inventory supplies and assist with room setup between patients. Requires CMA or RMA certification and relevant governing board certification; minimum one year related work experience preferred; travel may be required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program (1-year certificate or 2-year diploma)
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
- Certified by one of: NHA, AMT, AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, AAH, or AMCA
