Job Summary
Conduct patient care activities, including rooming clinic patients virtually or in person, updating charts, collecting lab specimens, and assisting providers during exams. Manage administrative functions such as greeting patients, handling phone calls, processing payments, obtaining prior authorizations, and managing mail and deliveries. Ensure efficient exam room turnover and disinfection while following infection control guidelines and handling hazardous materials. Triage patient communications and maintain confidentiality of all records. Work Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm, with potential days requiring no patients to support administrative needs independently. Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Medical Assistant Certification
- CPR/BLS
- 1 year of experience working within a clinical environment
- 1 year in an administrative, patient-facing, or customer service role
- Prior experience with eClinicalWorks
- Experience in obtaining prior authorizations for drugs including Botox for migraine, placing physician orders, chart check, triage, and refills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with ability to communicate professionally and effectively with other staff members, patients and physicians
- Computer skills for electronic recordkeeping
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Excellent visual acuity
- Manual dexterity
- Ability to stand; walk and talk, hear and smell
- Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
- Ability to sit; stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to use safety equipment, PPE (personal protective equipment) that may include but not be limited to face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, mask, and other protective garments and equipment
