Job Summary
Assist physicians with medical procedures, including phlebotomy, laboratory testing, and quality control. Perform instrument troubleshooting and maintenance while maintaining detailed patient records in the EMR. Travel to other clinic locations as needed for standard core workdays. Maintain a valid driver's license and vehicle for travel. Complete required background screenings, drug testing, and vaccinations as conditions of employment.
Required Qualifications
- High School or GED
- BLS required upon hire or must be obtained within 30 days of employment
- Valid Medical Assistant Certification from one of these 5 approved boards: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) and Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) from the National Health career Association (NHA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) from the National Center for Competency Testing, Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from American Medical Technologist (AMT), The Natio...
- Valid Driver's License and vehicle for travel to other clinic locations as needed
- One year experience as a medical assistant in clinic or physician's office
- Critical thinking skills including solid problem solving, analysis, decision-making, planning, time management and organizational skills
- Must be detailed oriented with the ability to exercise independent judgment
- Developed interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, diplomacy, tact, conflict management, delegation skills, and diversity awareness
- Ability to work effectively with sensitive and confidential material and sometimes emotionally charged matters
- Good command of the English language
- Effective communication skills (oral, written, presentation)
