Job Summary
Greet patients in person or by telephone, answer inquiries, and direct them to examining rooms while preparing gowns, drapes, and equipment. Verify patient information by interviewing, reviewing medical history, and taking vital signs. Support clinical delivery by assisting with examinations, preparing specimens, administering medications, drawing blood, performing EKGs, and removing sutures. Educate patients on medication and diet, complete examination and billing records, and manage inventory and equipment maintenance. Provide immunizations and injections per provider directive, track referrals and lab results, and assist with minor procedures. Maintain a safe environment by sterilizing instruments and monitoring refrigeration temperatures.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Current CMA or RMA
- CPR Certified
- Must be computer literate
- Must possess good knowledge of office practices
- Customer service oriented
- Organized
- Diligent
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Must have excellent grammar usage
- Demonstrates problem solving skills
- Ability to work effectively and consistently with limited direct supervision
- Ability to communicate well with staff, physicians and general public
- Exhibits commitment to effective problem solving techniques when issues arise
- Good organizational and strong communication skills
- Ability to interact with a variety of persons
- Understanding, courteous, and professional at all times in contacts with patients, visitors, employees, and medical staff
- Dependable

- Neat and friendly appearance
Desired Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in a medical office or health care setting environment preferred
- Ability to speak Spanish
