Job Summary
Answer patient calls, take vitals, obtain authorizations, and schedule diagnostic tests and surgeries. Prepare exam rooms, assist physicians during procedures such as wax removal and biopsies, obtain consent, and call in prescriptions. Clean and sterilize instruments per CDC and ENTAAF guidelines, and provide patient briefings before physician entry. Maintain strong communication with patients, physicians, and team members while managing high patient volumes. Requires one year of hands-on medical assistant experience, current certification, and EMR proficiency. Bi-lingual Spanish is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant
- Minimum one-year HANDS ON Medical Assistant experience
- Current with certification
- Comfortable assisting with surgical procedures
- Working knowledge of medical terminology
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a clear speaking voice
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills
- The ability to interact professionally at all times with patients, physicians, and team members
- EMR experience
- Strong computer literacy
- Bi-lingual in Spanish
- Must be a self-starter
- Willing to learn all aspects of the ENT, Allergy and Audiology field
- Must be able to handle a high volume of incoming patients
- Must be able to assist patients in transferring from wheelchair to an exam chair
- Must be capable of lifting up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to travel between ENTAAF offices for support purposes
