Job Summary
Certified Medical Assistant provides clinical and clerical support across primary care, surgical and specialty practices in an ambulatory setting. Responsibilities include knowledge of prescribed medications, medication administration, medication reconciliation in the EMR, medication order entry, submitting prescriptions electronically, documentation in the patient medical record, patient intake and vital signs, assisting with procedures, patient education, maintaining accurate care documentation, collecting specimens, front office duties (scheduling, handling payments), registering patients and verifying insurance, and ensuring compliance with clinic policies. Requires completion of an accredited medical assistant program with AAMA/RMA/NHA certification (or approved equivalent) and a High School diploma or GED; BLS certification is required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Degree or GED
- Completion of an accredited medical assistant program with an AAMA, RMA, or NHA certification or approved equivalent
- BLS Certification required.
