Certified Medical Assistant

The Certified Medical Assistant joins the SBHC clinical team to perform coordinated clinical and clerical duties that prep patients for visits, prepare and update patient charts in the EHR, gather patient information, and maintain smooth patient flow throughout the health center. Responsibilities include collecting medical histories, recording vital signs, assisting providers with examinations and procedures, administering medications as directed, ensuring rooms are stocked and prepared, managing medical supplies, preserving patient confidentiality, and facilitating referrals and education tools for patients. Strong organizational skills, teamwork within a healthcare setting, proficiency with electronic health records (prefer Next Gen), and BLS certification are required.
