Job Summary
Welcome and escort patients to exam rooms; prepare patients for visits; accurately obtain and record vital signs; perform patient intake to assist providers in directing care per protocol. Assist with exams, diagnostic, or therapeutic procedures as requested, and direct patients following visits. Perform EKGs on selected patients, prepare laboratory requests, deliver specimens, retrieve lab results and x-ray reports, and clean and restock exam rooms. Administer vaccines if certified, maintain professional certification, and cross-train for backup patient services and reception duties. Answer patient calls and messages, pre-register patients at scheduling, and ensure follow-up booking per care plans. Maintain CPR certification and have clinical protocols reviewed yearly by a supervising RN or clinical trainer.
Required Qualifications
- High school or equivalent – completion of accredited Certified Medical Assistant program
- Massachusetts Certified Medical Assistant Certification
- Maintain CPR certification
- Spanish speaking/bilingual is a plus
