Job Summary
Greet patients and visitors, answer phones, and schedule appointments while managing insurance forms and patient charts. Prepare examination rooms and patients for clinical procedures, assisting Licensed Medical Personnel during exams and coordinating laboratory work. Maintain medical records, manage inventories, and order medication under the direction of the Practice Manager and Medical Director. Perform administrative and clinical duties in a 90% office-based, 10% field environment at Pendleton Outpatient. AAMA certification is preferred, and candidates must pass a criminal background check and pre-hire drug screen.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or GED equivalent
- Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant course
- AAMA certification or AMT registration
- Must pass all criminal history check requirements as required by ORS 181.536-181.537 and in accordance with OAR 410-007-0200 through 410-007-0380
- Must pass a pre-employment background check
- Must be checked on a monthly basis against the OIG and GSA exclusion lists
- Must pass a drug screen
- Must hold a valid driver's license
- Must hold personal auto insurance for privately owned Vehicles utilized for CCS business
- Must show proof of $300,000 or more liability coverage for bodily injury
- Must show proof of $100,000 or more in property damage coverage
- Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, medical terminology as well as laboratory techniques, clinical procedures and pharmaceutical Medical Assistant principles
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms
- Customer service-oriented attitude/behavior
- Ability to use active listening, time management and critical thinking skills
- Ability to use medical equipment, computers, medical and office software
- Ability to stand and talk or hear
- Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Ability to reach with hands and arms
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Close vision

- Ability to handle verbal and physical threats from clients
- Ability to handle exposure to airborne pathogens

Desired Qualifications
