Job Summary
Assess patient physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interviews, and medical record review to evaluate responses and report to providers. Perform clinical tasks including vital signs, mini treatments, prevention services, previsit planning, postvisit follow-up, and medication refills per protocol. Contribute to patient care plans by identifying barriers to self-management and coordinating interdisciplinary care. Educate patients and families using motivational interviewing, evidence-based protocols, and teachback methods. Precept and mentor new staff or medical assistant students as needed. Maintain accurate chart documentation while supporting efficient patient flow. Work as a PRN team member with a medium physical workload.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/G.E.D.
- BLS through American Heart Association
- Nationally Certified as a Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant by one of the following: AAMA, AMT, NHA or NCCT
- Successful completion of all Medical Assistant Core Skills, as well as additional competencies which are specialty specific, as defined within the Scope of Practice for Medical Assistants
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of Medical Assisting Program/Trade/Technical School
- Completion of EMT Program/Trade/Technical School
